Hugh Trevor-Roper was a British historian who served as Regius Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford from 1957 to 1983. He was created a life peer in 1970 and took the title Baron Dacre of Glanton. He is best known for his work on the history of the English Civil War and the Nazi regime.
