Isidor Feinstein Stone (September 24, 1907 – June 18, 1989), better known as I. F. Stone, was an American journalist, author, and activist. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Russian Jewish immigrants, he was educated at the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University. Stone began his journalism career in the 1920s and became a nationally known figure in the 1930s and 1940s as a critic of U.S. foreign policy.
