Yes, John McDiarmid directed several plays throughout his career. He made his directorial debut with the 1973 production of "The School for Scandal" at the Shaw Festival. McDiarmid went on to direct numerous other productions, including "The Importance of Being Earnest," "The Misanthrope," and "Hamlet." He also directed the world premiere of Tomson Highway's "Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing" in 1989.
