Answer
Metastaseis is a composition by John Cage. It was first performed in 1958 and introduced independent parts for every musician of the orchestra. This was a radical departure from the traditional practice of having the conductor lead the orchestra and each musician playing the same part. Metastaseis is considered to be one of Cage's most important works and has been performed by many orchestras around the world.
