Ibn Saud was born on 15 January 1875 in Riyadh, Najd. He was the founder of the third Saudi state and ruled from 1902 until his death in 1953. His reign was marked by the unification of the Arabian Peninsula and the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
