Ingemar Stenmark started his professional World Cup career in the 1974–75 season. He is a Swedish former alpine ski racer who is widely considered to be the greatest slalom skier of all time. Stenmark won 86 World Cup races, including 46 in slalom, 31 in giant slalom, and 9 in combined. He also won six World Championships and three Olympic gold medals.
