Michael Psellos pressured Isaac into abdicating. Isaac was the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire from 1057 to 1059. He was forced to abdicate by a conspiracy of nobles and courtiers led by Michael Psellos, who was the head of the imperial administration. Isaac was blinded and exiled to a monastery, where he died in 1060.
