Ismail Sabri served as the Prime Minister of Malaysia for 15 months, from August 2021 to March 2023. He was appointed to the position after the resignation of Muhyiddin Yassin, who had been prime minister since March 2020. Sabri was the first prime minister of Malaysia to be appointed from outside of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the country's largest political party.
