Answer
Russian physiologist Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849–1936) developed the concept of classical conditioning through his experiments with dogs. He conditioned them to associate the sound of a bell with food, causing them to salivate at the sound of the bell alone. Pavlov won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1904 for his work on conditioned reflexes.
