At age 14, J. M. W. Turner entered the Royal Academy of Arts. He was the youngest student ever admitted to the school. He excelled in his studies and quickly became one of the most promising young artists in England. After graduating from the academy, Turner went on to become one of the most famous and influential painters of all time.
