Jack Lynch was elected as a TD for the Cork South-Central constituency. He was first elected in 1948 and served in the Dáil until his death in 1999. During his time in the Dáil, he held a number of ministerial positions, including Minister for Finance, Minister for External Affairs and Taoiseach. He is best known for his role in negotiating Ireland's entry into the European Economic Community (EEC).
