Jahan Shah was the last ruler of the Timurid dynasty in Persia, who died in 1467. His successor was Uzun Hassan, who founded the Aq Qoyunlu dynasty. The Aq Qoyunlu were a Turkic dynasty that ruled over much of western and southern Iran, as well as parts of Iraq and Anatolia. They were defeated by the Safavid dynasty in 1501.
