Answer
Metallica, one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal bands, was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California. The band's original lineup consisted of Lars Ulrich on drums, James Hetfield on vocals and rhythm guitar, Dave Mustaine on lead guitar, and Ron McGovney on bass. Metallica's aggressive musical style and raw, unpolished sound quickly gained them a following in the underground metal scene.
