James Connolly was an Irish socialist revolutionary and trade unionist who was executed by the British government for his part in the Easter Rising. Connolly was a friend and colleague of James Larkin, and the two men worked together to organize the Irish Labour Movement. Connolly was also a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, and he was involved in the planning of the Easter Rising.
