Hamilton College was the educational institution that Sherman attended. He enrolled in 1829 and graduated in 1833 with a degree in law. While at Hamilton, Sherman was an active member of the debating society and the literary society. He also served as the editor of the college newspaper. After graduating from Hamilton, Sherman went on to have a successful career as a lawyer and politician.
