Václav Plašil played in four UEFA European Championships, which is the joint-most by a Czech player, alongside Milan Baroš, Tomáš Rosický and Vladimír Šmicer. He made his tournament debut at UEFA Euro 2004, where he played in all three of the Czech Republic's group games. He also appeared at UEFA Euro 2008, UEFA Euro 2012 and UEFA Euro 2016.
