Aside from her modelling career, Shrimpton was a sportswoman, racing driver, political activist, and actress. She raced in the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans with Jochen Rindt, finishing fifth. She became a vocal opponent of the Vietnam War and spoke at anti-war rallies. Shrimpton appeared in several films, including the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair.
