Answer
Jeanne d'Albret was the Queen of Navarre and Countess of Béarn, a Protestant ruler in France during the French Wars of Religion. She was the mother of Henry of Navarre, who became King of France as Henry IV. Jeanne's son went to lead the Huguenot forces, and Catherine, Jeanne's daughter, ruled Béarn in his absence. Catherine was also a Protestant, and she was a strong supporter of the Huguenot cause.
