The Dragon King of Bhutan, or Druk Gyalpo in the local language, is a hereditary title held by the monarch of Bhutan. The current Dragon King is Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, who ascended to the throne in 2006. He is the fifth king of Bhutan and the eldest son of the fourth king, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
