Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink retired from professional football in 2008, at the age of 36. He had spent the previous season with Charlton Athletic, and had previously played for a number of other clubs, including Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, Middlesbrough and Leeds United. Hasselbaink was a prolific goalscorer, and is currently the seventh-highest goalscorer in Premier League history. He also won the Golden Boot in the 2000-01 season, while playing for Chelsea.
