**JG 234, also known as the Wild Boar Squadron, was Müncheberg's first Fighter Wing**. Formed in October 1943, it was one of the most successful fighter units of the Luftwaffe during World War II. The unit claimed over 700 enemy aircraft shot down, primarily on the Eastern Front. JG 234 was disbanded in April 1945, shortly before the end of the war.
