Matip joined Liverpool in 2016. He is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club Liverpool and the Cameroon national team. Matip began his career with hometown club Bochum, before moving to Schalke 04 in 2010. He spent six seasons with Schalke, making over 250 appearances and winning the DFB-Pokal in 2011.
