Johann Gottlieb Fichte was born on May 19, 1762. He was a German philosopher who is considered to be one of the founders of classical German philosophy. Fichte's work had a major influence on the development of German idealism, and his ideas were later taken up by other philosophers such as Friedrich Schelling and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.
