Answer
Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite is a mysterious figure whose writings have been of immense importance in the history of Christian thought. He is thought to have been a Neoplatonist philosopher and theologian, active in the early sixth century. His works, which are attributed to Dionysius the Areopagite, a member of the early Church in Athens, were translated and commented upon by Eriugena, who drew heavily on their Neoplatonic metaphysics.
