John C. Breckinridge was born on January 16, 1821 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 14th Vice President of the United States from 1857 to 1861. He was also a candidate for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 1860 and 1864.
