John Corbett made his first-class debut for Victoria in the 1911–12 season. He played in five matches, including three against the touring South Africans. Corbett was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a right-handed batsman. He took six wickets at an average of 41.50, with a best of 3/33 against South Australia. As a batsman, he scored 11 runs at an average of 3.70.
