John Casimir entered the Jesuit order in 1643, after abdicating the Polish throne. Born on November 21, 1609, he was King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1648 to 1668. He was the second son of King Sigismund III Vasa and Archduchess Constance of Austria.
