John J. Morgan was born in 1770. He was an American politician and lawyer who served as a U.S. Representative from New York from 1819 to 1821. He was also a member of the New York State Assembly from 1816 to 1818. Morgan was a supporter of the War of 1812 and served as a captain in the New York State Militia during the conflict.
