John Martin was a bookseller, publisher and art dealer who lived in London from 1758 to 1830. He was a friend and patron of William Blake and other Romantic artists, and published many of their works. He also published a number of illustrated books, including John Flaxman's illustrations to Dante's Divine Comedy.
