John Tavares was named the CHL Player of the Year in 2007. He was playing for the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League at the time. Tavares had a phenomenal season, scoring 57 goals and 104 assists for 161 points in 61 games. He also led the OHL in scoring and was named to the First All-Star Team.
