José Antonio Primo de Rivera won a seat in the Congress of Deputies in the 1933 general election. He had been the leader of the Falange since its founding in 1933, and he was one of the most prominent figures in the Spanish right-wing movement. He was elected to represent the province of Cádiz, and he served in the Cortes until his execution by the Second Spanish Republic in 1936.
