Answer
The Iraq War was the conflict that Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero withdrew Spanish troops from. In 2004, Spain had around 1,300 troops deployed in Iraq as part of the U.S.-led coalition that had invaded the country in 2003. However, public opposition to the war in Spain was strong, and Zapatero's decision to withdraw the troops was seen as a major shift in Spanish foreign policy.
