Who discovered Mutual Inductance before Joseph Henry?

  • Michael Faraday

  • Samuel Morse

  • Charles Wheatstone

  • Not Sure

Answer

Michael Faraday discovered mutual inductance before Joseph Henry, a fellow scientist who is often credited with the discovery. In 1831, Faraday conducted an experiment that showed that a changing magnetic field in one coil of wire could induce a current in another coil of wire. This phenomenon is known as mutual inductance. Henry conducted a similar experiment in 1832, but his work was not published until after Faraday's.
