Answer
Joseph Joachim made his debut in London in 1844 playing Beethoven's Violin Concerto. This was a bold choice, as the concerto was not yet widely known and had not been played by many violinists. Joachim's performance was a success, and he went on to become one of the most celebrated violinists of his time.
