Besides winning the world championship in men's 10,000 metres in 2019, Joshua Cheptegei also won the World Cross Country in 2019. This was the first time in 17 years that a Ugandan had won the World Cross Country, and it was Cheptegei's second world cross country title after winning in 2017.
