The five złoty coin was designed by Wojciech Gosławski and was first minted in 1976. It is made of copper-nickel and is 24.5 mm in diameter and 2.3 mm thick. The obverse features the coat of arms of Poland, and the reverse features the value of the coin in Roman numerals.
