Judith A. Resnik was an American astronaut who flew on four Space Shuttle missions, STS-51-L, STS-63, STS-74, and STS-91. She held an electrical engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a doctorate in materials science and engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. She was killed during the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
