Karel deLeeuw was an American obstetrician and gynecologist known for his contributions to the field of obstetrics, including the development of the DeLeeuw forceps and the DeLeeuw method of breech delivery. He was born in the Netherlands but emigrated to the United States in 1883 and became a naturalized citizen in 1893. He practiced medicine in Chicago and was a professor at the Northwestern University Medical School.
