Karl von Habsburg is the current pretender to the Austro-Hungarian throne, a position he has held since the 2011 death of his father, Otto von Habsburg. The Austro-Hungarian throne ceased to exist in 1918 when Austria-Hungary dissolved at the end of World War I.
