American swimmer Katie Ledecky was the first to hold world records in five individual medley events at the same time. She broke her first world record in the 200-meter individual medley at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and she went on to break four more world records in the event at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia.
