Kazuyoshi Miura started playing for the national team of Japan in 1990. He made his debut in a friendly match against Hong Kong on 20 May 1990. He has since gone on to play for Japan in the 1998, 2002, and 2006 FIFA World Cups. He is the oldest player to ever play in the World Cup, and is the all-time leading goalscorer for Japan.
