Keith Vaz is of Asian descent. He was born in Aden, South Yemen (now Yemen), to Indian parents and moved to England at the age of eight. He is a British citizen and has represented the Leicester East constituency in the House of Commons since 1987. He is the first Asian person to be elected to the House of Commons.
