Kelly Holmes was born in 1970 in Hildenborough, Kent, England. She is a retired British middle-distance runner who competed in the 800 metres, 1500 metres and 3000 metres. She won two gold medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, one in the 800 metres and one in the 1500 metres. She is the only British woman to have won two gold medals at a single Olympic Games.
