Burj Khalifa was initially called Burj Dubai when it was introduced to the world in 2009, but the name was officially changed to Burj Khalifa, in honor of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in 2010, the year the construction of this magnificent edifice was completed.
