Answer
Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal was the leader of Mongolia from 1952 to 1984, after succeeding Khorloogiin Choibalsan. Tsedenbal was a close ally of Joseph Stalin and his successor Nikita Khrushchev, and during his time in office Mongolia closely aligned itself with the Soviet Union. Tsedenbal's rule was marked by economic stagnation and political repression, and he was eventually forced to resign in 1984 after mass protests.
