Which tribes did Kit Carson suppress during the American Civil War?

  • Navajo, Mescalero Apache, Kiowa, and Comanche tribes

  • Cheyenne, Sioux, Cherokee, and Creek tribes

  • Mohawk, Algonquin, Huron, and Iroquois tribes

  • Apache, Sioux, Arapaho, and Blackfoot tribes

Answer

During the American Civil War, Kit Carson was sent to suppress the Navajo, Mescalero Apache, Kiowa, and Comanche tribes. Carson and his men killed and captured many Native Americans, and destroyed their villages and crops. This led to the Navajo Long Walk, in which thousands of Navajo were forced to march 300 miles to a reservation in New Mexico.
