Konrad Emil Bloch (1912–2000) was a German-American biochemist and Nobel laureate who was born in Neisse, Germany. He studied at the Technical University of Munich and the University of Munich. In 1934, he fled Nazi Germany to work at the University of Cambridge. He later moved to the United States and worked at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research.
