Henlein founded the Sudeten German Party in 1933. He was a leader of the German minority in Czechoslovakia, and the party was dedicated to promoting the rights of Germans in Czechoslovakia. The party quickly became popular, and Henlein used it to advocate for the annexation of the Sudetenland by Germany.
