Konstantin Chernenko, the fifth General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, had two children. Both were daughters, Elena and Anna. Elena, born in 1939, followed in her father's political footsteps and served as a member of the Supreme Soviet. Her sister Anna, born in 1940, opted for a life outside of politics.
