Kristen Wiig was born in Canandaigua, New York, but was primarily raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She attended Lancaster Catholic High School and studied theater at the University of Arizona. She began her career in comedy as a member of the Groundlings comedy troupe in Los Angeles. She has since starred in a number of films and television shows, including Saturday Night Live, Bridesmaids, and The Martian.
